Technical webinar: How to improve the flexibility, robustness and productivity of the LBW (Laser Beam welding) process

this webinar will take place on August 30 at 10 am

The idea of this webinar is to explain a methodology of application-driven laser beam, by tailoring the material microstructure and deploying this beam to solve hot-cracking in LBW (Laser Beam welding).

This webinar is part of a set of 3 dissemination actions of the CUSTODIAN project, 2 technical webinars, one for LBW and the other focused in PBF-LB/M technology, and one final workshop open to the widest audience. The expected duration is of about 1,5 – 2 hours, covering general topics about each process and the related materials of main interest within the CUSTODIAN project.

Below you can consult the different topics that will be discussed during the webinar:

  • Beam shaping based on MPLC technology as cutting-edge approach for solving LBW challenges in industry
  • Last development for In line monitoring and controlling of beam shaped LBW processes based on high speed IR imaging
  • LBW of stainless steels, metallurgical issues and the main challenges to be faced for product quality
  • Simulation of laser beam welding
  • Application of beam shaping by MPLC technology and inline control system to LBW of automotive exhaust parts
